Look at You!

Lifestyle, music, photography

My idea for a lifestyle blog started with my desire to be a lifestyle photographer.

Searching for lifestyle images to capture has led me to meeting some amazing people with incredible stories, and inspiring dreams.

While some might think a lifestyle photography blog is a little antiquated in today's environment of 30 second videos and short attention spans, I think it's the perfect place for these stories to live.

If someone is going to tell me their story, I think it deserves more than to end with my ears.

My goal with this blog is to share those stories along with the photos, to let them live on beyond my Immediate memory.

I have a theory behind my approach. I purchased a digital voice recorder for any interviews I may conduct. Yes, I know, antiquated. But, one thing I have learned as a photographer, is people act differently with a camera pointed at them. A voice recorder will allow a more genuine conversation based interview, as opposed to an interview conducted with camera equipment and a big mic.

I don't want big prepared statements, that's what traditional media outlets are for.

I'm beyond excited to begin this journey, it has been a long time coming. Now feels like the right time for this. We currently live in a culture that celebrates and profits off of negativity, click bait, and shortened attention spans. I don't want to contribute to that. I don't want to reduce people to click, views, and dollar signs.

I want to share as much of their story as they are willing to share, regardless if it fits the current typical 30 second attention span or not.
